Pavel Lukeš

Pavel Lukeš is the Head of Information Technology Department at Direct pojišťovna. He has spent his career at the intersection of architecture, software development, and operations of large-scale systems, primarily in financial institutions. His expertise lies in distributed systems, high availability, performance, and the stability of production applications.

Throughout his career, Pavel has helped companies solve performance and reliability challenges. He has been working in software development for more than twenty years and has held various technical and leadership roles. At Direct, under the Direct technologies umbrella, he currently leads the technological side of the company’s AI transformation, impacting software development, operations, and the broader way the organization works.

Pavel actively shares his experience with the technology community through conference talks and professional activities. He is also a lecturer at the Prague University of Economics and Business, where he focuses on topics related to software development and performance optimization.
